- rmader: "I'm increasingly excited about what #opencl support coming together across the board in #mesa could mean for multimedia in the free ecosystem.Just some thoughts about what I think is on the table: - fluent/efficient AV1[1] playback across the board, maybe even on hardware like the Raspberry Pi4 - real-time AV1 encoding in reasonable quality for video chat, screencasting and camera recording - a GPU ISP, allowing reasonable image quality with any camera sensor1: or any other format?"

- praveen: We started a poll earlier at #debphoshfund to pick a maps/navigation app. @agx suggested we come up with a list of desired features and check with the maintainers of the app we pick that they are in alignment and open to accepting contributions for those to avoid conflicts later or having to fork. - #phosh: @me Good news: Fractal (and other clients) don't need to use feedbackd directly. They just needs to set the
im.received
category
on the notification: (https://specifications.freedesktop.org/notification-spec/latest/categories.html) and #phosh handles the details. This is supported by about all notification client libs (libnotify, glib/gio (https://docs.gtk.org/gio/method.Notification.set_category.html)Maybe file an issue with Fractal for that? Given that Fractal uses glib/gio it's a one line change.

You can install a script file that lets it access gemini sites via a web proxy. There's one for gopher too. So I can access both protocols from my phone.#sxmo #w3m #gemini #gopher

- #UbuntuTouch: Staring to mull over the possibility of getting/making a #Linux #smartphone (probably #UbuntuTouch) but was rather surprised to learn there is no #Ubuntu Touch compatible Signal app? Seems like a pretty obvious match? And there’s no LINE, which means there’s no possibility of giving up my iPhone. On my iPhone, I use LINE to keep in touch with family and friends (those based in Japan, anyway), I use Signal to chat with my sisters, I use the Washington Post app, I use Mona for Mastodon, and I grudgingly use YouTube, though I hate YouTube intensely. That’s about it. (1/2)

Thanks
Huge thanks to Plata for the nifty set of Python scripts that speed up collecting links from feeds by a lot.
Something missing? Want to contribute?
If your project's cool story (or your awesome video or nifty blog post or ...) is missing and you don't want that to happen again, please just put it into the hedgedoc pad for the next one! Since I am collecting many things there, this get's you early access if you will ;-) If you just stumble on a thing, please put it in there too - all help is appreciated!
