FOSDEM 2026 Recommendations
Table of Contents
FOSDEM 2026 is approaching, and here's a short post with recommendations for those interested in the topic of this blog.
Before I mention stands and talks and therefore points in space and time, let me recommend nav.fosdem.org, a neat web map to find the rooms more easily.
The stands
This FOSDEM will feature three stands with a focus on running Linux on Mobile:
- FuriLabs
- Linux on Mobile (find me there)
- postmarketOS
All in building UD, level 2 - where I have never been, but it's close to the food trucks, which is good, and not to far from the dev room.
Aside from these,
- KDE (with this fun gadget) and
- GNOME
are in K level 2 (group B), various instant messaging stands are in AW level 1, and the PINE64 Community will be present in building K level 1 on Sunday.
Talks
Luckily, there'll be another "FOSS on Mobile" devroom in UB4.132 (yes, 4th floor), covering the whole saturday. There's one caveat though: This year, it also features various talk on FOSS AOSP projects, that have been traditionally in a different room - it's all FOSS on Mobile, so one room is okay :-)
As I won't have the time to update a local copy of the schedule, just check it out on the FOSDEM.org page.
Other noteworthy talks include:
- FOSDEM 2026 - Towards a Local-First Linux Desktop with Modal, Reflection and p2panda
- FOSDEM 2026 - libcamera software ISP status update
- FOSDEM 2026 - No Line Like Mainline: Update On The Fully Mainline Software Stack For Rockchip SoCs
- FOSDEM 2026 - Add Support for New Boards to Mainline Linux, U-Boot and Yocto
- FOSDEM 2026 - Wayland input method wrap up
- FOSDEM 2026 - One Flutter Embedder to Rule Them All
The list of recommendations on CNX-Software may also be helpful.
